England Hockey recommends that all coaches, whether you are a lead coach, coach or a helper, to have the required specialist insurance on the role you play to protect yourself.
Whereas the Club Membership provide an element of cover for helpers within clubs, England's Hockey Coach membership provides greater cover for coaches and lead coaches who lead the delivery of coaching sessions and programmes independently in any environment.
We strongly recommend that coaches take out England Hockey Coaches membership for access to better tools, resources and discounts for their development.
As part of Coach membership as well as Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Personal Accident insurance, you have access to a Legal Expenses policy which provides cover for legal representation and defence costs including, but not limited to, interview under caution, safeguarding hearings and appeals, and disciplinary hearings. 24/7 access is also provided to an Advice Line and Stress Counselling. Please refer to the schedule and policy document in the Useful Downloads section.
