Yes, a £250 excess applies to the Public Liability cover if a member has damaged third party property.

Please contact Marsh Sport if you are unsure on whether an incident should be notified or not, they will advise you accordingly.

There are no age restrictions applicable to the Public Liability insurance. However triathlon activity must be in accordance with the guidelines set by British Triathlon.

Personal Accident cover is available to members who are between 5 and 90 years of age.

The Public Liability limit provided is £15,000,000. This is the maximum amount of the insurer's liability for any claim or claims under a policy during the policy period.

As a Core member, you are permitted to train either alone or with a club, within the United Kingdom. The Public Liability insurance will also cover you for 4 days training abroad prior to racing at an approved Europe Triathlon/World Triathlon event.

Yes, you are covered under the public liability insurance to train with sports clubs of which you are not a member, as long as you are training in the sports of a triathlon, swimming, cycling and running.

The Public Liability policy does not cover commuting unless you are training towards a genuine triathlon goal, and are able to evidence the ride formed part of your training plan, such as a defined training log, and the route, the bike you were using, the clothing you were wearing and the event you had entered into for which you are training, Insurers would then consider each claim on its own merits.Alternatively this may be covered under your household insurance or if you have separate bike insurance this may be extended to cover commuting.

There is a statues of limitations for an injured party has to bring a claim for injury against you. Usually 3 years or if they are a child up to 3 years from their 18th birthday. This however can be reviewed by the courts dependent on the circumstances. It is imperative however that you notify any circumstance which may give rise to a claim as soon as you are aware of it.

As a Core member, you are covered for unlimited racing within the UK at permitted events. You are also covered to race abroad at Europe Triathlon/World Triathlon permitted championships and events, details of which can be found here:https://www.triathlon.org/events

Yes the Public Liability insurance covers you to train as long as it falls within the disciplines of a triathlon - swimming, cycling and running.

If you are competing at an event overseas that is not an Europe Triathlon or World Triathlon championship, you do not have any insurance in place via British Triathlon. You would need to purchase your own insurance.

The insurance policies do not cover United Kingdom Nationals that permanently reside overseas, the Insurers are not licenced to be able to do so.

A United Kingdom resident can temporarily reside overseas for up a maximum of 180 days and still be insured via the British Triathlon Liability policy, however if an individual is permanently residing outside of the United Kingdom they must seek insurance cover in their country of residence.

To be classed as United Kingdom resident you would need to be registered as a resident and paying Tax in the United Kingdom. 

Yes, the Liability policy is in place if a claim is made against you.

No, as you are a not a UK Resident the British Triathlon cover does not provide insurance protection, we recommend you purchase Public Liability cover in your country of residence.
