Coaches Insurance Cover

As part of your membership to British Ice Skating, you automatically receive the benefit of the association’s public liability and group personal accident insurance.

To understand what these covers are and to see the main terms and conditions that apply please make sure you refer to the policy summary and policy wording.

When does cover operate?

The Liability insurance operates when you are taking part in any coaching activity recognised/authorised by British Ice Skating as advised to the insurers including but not limited to singles, pairs, dance and synchronised skating and long & short track skating disciplines, British Ice Skating approved off ice training and mentoring of assistant coaches.

Personal accident operates whilst participating in any authorised activity of the insured anywhere in the world including direct travel to and from any authorised activity of the insured within Britain.

The British Ice Skating annual policies run from 1 March 2024 (or such late date as licence is certified) to 28 February 2025 (or expiry date of licence).

PLEASE NOTE

Insurers have agreed to cover approved off-ice training such as strength and conditioning and pilates, on the basis the off-ice training aids, the standard training and does not represent over 20% of your total coaching time.

It is condition that coaches are appropriately qualified for these additional activities, and can provide evidence of this upon request. We would suggest CIMSPA, or equivalent from the respective body who issues the certification.

If you have any queries regarding this additional cover, please contact Marsh Sport.
